Congratulations to Sao Paulo native Wilson Reis on winning his MMA debut fight last night at Extreme Challenge 81 in West Orange, New Jersey. The 22-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt earned the Unanimous Decision win over Baba Shegeyasu (Shigamashu) of Rhino Fight Team in New Jersey. Now living in Philadelphia, the Godai JJ fighter is a 2x Brasileiro finalist and Cyclone Cup champion.

From fiveouncesofpain.com: "Wilson Reis, who also trains at Daddis/MFS (in Philadelphia) and with BJJ United (in Jenkintown) put on a ground clinic vs. Shigamashu in his debut. Reis, who holds a black belt in BJJ and is one of the best grapplers in the Northeast, immediately shot in for the takedown. He hit his shot and that set the tone for the rest of the bout. Not a lot of striking in the bout but there were multiple submission attempts. Shigamashu had no answer for Reis’ takedowns but was able to reverse position several times on the ground. He threw some decent strikes but the match was still pretty much all Reis. He’s a name to keep your eye on at 145 lbs."

Four warriors from PA-Grappling claimed victory in the cage last Saturday night at Next Level Fighting 9 in Steubenville, Ohio. Josh Breto fought with heart and determination, landing strikes, a bunch of legkicks, and scoring numerous takedowns to gain a unanimous decision victory. Bruce Monroe made his MMA debut by completely controlling his opponent at standup, in the clinch, with takedowns, and on the ground, pounding the guy black and blue and winning a blowout unanimous decision. Jeff Rembold utterly dominated his opponent, cutting the guy's face in the first round with vicious punches, and pounding the guy on the ground with punches, knees, and elbows, while maintaining superior positioning and forcing the guy to quit towards the end of the 2nd round.
