Here's an update from Adam Rocco of RoccoMMA in Philadelphia on his two fighters Wednesday night at New Breed Fighters.
"Eric "The Squirrel" Nino put on a dominating performence. He won every second of the fight. He came out in the first round, landed a punch and his opponent jumped guard. Eric immediatley passed his guard and put on a grappling clinic. In the closing seconds of the first round Eric set up a beautiful triangle choke from the mount position but ran out of time before his opponent tapped. The next two rounds were more of the same. Eric started both of these rounds with a devastating slam and then continued to dominate the fight with his superior grappling. On the ground Eric beat his opponents body with punches and knees. He kept coming very close to submitting his opponent, but his opponent was very crafted and was able to go the distance with Eric. Eric won the match by unanimous decision (over Scott Krampetz)."
"The next fighter to enter the cage was our big man Anton Berzin. Anton was up against a very good grappler that had won many NAGA tournaments, so our game plan was to keep it on the feet and avoid the take downs for the first round and then when the other fighter got a little tired to open up on him and knock him out. Anton executed this to a tee. In the first round the opponent came out and through a few hard kicks at Anton and then tried continuously to shoot in and take the fight to the ground. Anton made him work very hard for the take down but after a few minutes of hard work Anton did get taken to the ground but to his opponents surprise Anton put him in a tight triangle choke and nearly tapped him. His opponent used alot of strength to get out of the submission attempt and as soon as he did Anton swept him and took mount in the closing seconds of the round. In the second round Anton went right out to finish the fight but his opponent was able to get him down to the ground again and immediatley went to mount. He set up a nice arm bar but Anton defended and got back on top. His opponent tried to roll for a knee bar but Anton ended up behind him and beat him hard to the body and then backed away to his feet. When his opponent stood back up and tried to pursue, Anton landed a tremendous right hand to the jaw and in desperation his opponent tried to shoot right after taking the shot but ended up falling straight on his face and couldn't get back up, so the ref stopped the fight. (Berzin won over Glenn Sonnabend."

Lion-Do Fight Club in Blairsville continued its impressive run as they traveled to Winchester, Virginia, on Friday for MMA in the Valley and the up-and-coming Pennsylvania club won three of four bouts. Eli Garshnick (3-0) started it all off for Lion-Do. The former two-time All-American wrestler at UPJ was bound and determined to show that his stand up is just as impressive as his ground game and he did just that. Garshnick delivered some devastating ground and pound to end his fight against Jason Bariatti (0-1) towards the end of round one. “Big” Jon Neese (2-1) bounced back from his first loss as he outlasted Joe Hughes (0-1) to win by Unanimous Decision. Neese showed some outstanding boxing and Muay Thai skills as the two big heavyweights banged away for three rounds. Neese now awaits his December 20th match-up with J.D. King (3-1) at the Cage of Chaos “Dynasty” show in St. Clairsville, Ohio on December 20th. King is listed as the CoC's #1 contender for the heavyweight crown. Douglassville-native Carmelo Marrero of American Top Team earned a split decision win over Steve Steinbeiss of Arizona Combat Club in their light heavyweight fight tonight in World Extreme Cagefighting 36 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
According to sherdog.com Last-minute addition Carmelo Marrero wielded his wrestling prowess to push ahead on the cards early and earn a split decision over a game Steve Steinbeiss in their light heavyweight meeting. Promotional newcomer Steinbeiss (4-2) came out strong with jabs and body kicks, but three-time UFC veteran Marrero (11-2, 1 NC) took it to the canvas at will on multiple occasions. From his back, a feisty Steinbeiss lined up two triangle choke attempts, but Marrero wiggled free each time and moved back to top position. The wrestler continued his takedown streak into the second round, passing from half guard to mount before the Arizona Combat Sports rep was able to rein him back into guard again. On his feet, Steinbeiss worked his jab and again forced the takedown from Marrero, who ended the round on his back after slipping from a lazy push kick. Steinbeiss was the fresher man of the two heading into the third round and used it to his advantage. Finding his range, he stunned Marrero with a punch and the wrestler flopped to his back. Behind on the scorecards, Steinbeiss backed out and beckoned Marrero to his feet. The exhausted wrestler rallied in the final moments with another takedown and again secured mount searching for the guillotine. Steinbeiss regained guard and struggled to his feet at the bell. Marrero, who replaced an injured Alex Schoenauer (Pictures), earned 29-28 tallies on two of the judges’ cards, while a third awarded Steinbeiss a 29-28 score. "I need to thank all my family at ATT. I took this fight on 5 days notice," said Marrero, who has posted victories in four of his last five rows since falling to Wilson Gouviea at UFC 71. “I was throwing for the clouds. I needed this win.”
